Planning for the Unthinkable: Disaster Preparedness

October 16 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Do you know what to do when a tornado sweeps into your neighborhood or floodwater reaches your doorstep? Join St. Mary’s County Emergency Services Department to learn what can be done now to reduce the impact of disaster later. This workshop will include an interactive educational lecture on how to keep yourself and your loved ones safe in the event of a disaster, a discussion on the area’s unique and most common threats, and the opportunity to create your own disaster supply kit with the essentials: food, water, first-aid, tools, and more!

This is a One Maryland One Book program inspired by this year’s OMOB selection What Storm, What Thunder by Myriam J. A. Chancy.

For questions please contact Nicole Bega at 301-863-8188 or nbega@stmalib.org
